UEFA Euros Online Hate
Tracking Women’s Euros Online Hate Targeting Players & Teams
In collaboration with Areto Labs, we’ve been tracking and analyzing the online hate targeting all players and teams playing in the UEFA Women’s Euros.
While the Euros have produced nothing but positivity on the field, unfortunately that isn’t the case out of the stadium and online.
We’ll be producing a detailed full report shortly after the tournament but check out a sneak peak of what we are seeing so far in the below infographic.
My biggest surprise was to see the young super sub and back-heel, nutmeg-scoring Heroine, Alessia Russo attracting so many hateful comments online.
It’s also concerning that while most online posts aimed at the teams and players were supportive, approximately 10% contained some ‘hate’…and some of that ‘hate’ was truly disturbing with comments including threats, sexually explicit abuse and identity attacks.
Stay tuned to see our full report.
